Milk or Meat? Stop Dividing Over Leaders -
The “Celebrity” Christianity mindset has actually been around for many, many years. Instead of Jesus being our Savior, Lord, and King, our favorite local pastor or online speaker has taken His place. We have become fans and followers of mere men and women instead of the perfect, holy God.
So, what is the role of a church leader? What type of influence should they have in our lives?
In Lesson 2 of this 3-part series, “Milk or Meat?”, Paztuh Mike Wuebbles shares how vital it is for believers to grow up and stop fighting and dividing over church leaders. In 1 Corinthians 3:4-5, the Apostle Paul continues to rebuke the congregation in Corinth for picking sides between him and other leaders. He emphasizes that each leader is simply God’s servant, obeying the Gospel work they have been given to do.
Ultimately, no human being deserves the ability to divide and separate us from the Kingdom mission and mandate that Jesus gave all of us. Elevating men and women to roles that only God can fill is idolatry. This is blatant, immature Christianity, producing every kind of evil. The “meat” of God’s Word commands unity in thought and purpose for the sake of the Gospel. But are we actually ready to obey it?
