Kingdom Unity: Kingdom Ambassadors -
In the United States, a majority of Christians view God and His government through the lens of their favorite political party and ideology. The Kingdom of God is… a kingdom. Jesus is not only our Savior. He is the supreme ruler and authority within God’s Kingdom: spiritual and physical. What King Jesus speaks, His Word, becomes law. No options.
In Lesson 1 of the series Kingdom Unity, Paztuh Mike Wuebbles emphasizes the absolute need for believers to actually understand the Kingdom of God and agree with King Jesus. All believers are called to be representatives of this Kingdom and ambassadors of Christ.

The Apostle Paul states in 2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT, “So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
Acting as an ambassador is a high honor and privilege. The person represents the leader, the laws, the values, and the citizens of their home country in a foreign nation.
How can we as believers be ambassadors for Jesus and His Kingdom here on earth if we disagree with Him?

Embracing Kingdom Unity: The Call to Be True Ambassadors
Introduction: Redefining True Worship and Preparation
Worship is fundamentally obedience. The first biblical mention of worship involves Abraham's radical willingness to sacrifice Isaac (Genesis 22:1-5), demonstrating that true worship requires total surrender, not just musical instrumentation.
Sanctification is uncomfortable. The biblical concept of "iron sharpening iron" (Proverbs 27:17) is a difficult, abrasive process that is fundamentally necessary for spiritual growth and maturity.
Unity precedes impact. Before the church can effectively evangelize or influence the world, it must first establish profound internal agreement built exclusively on a kingdom foundation.
To truly build this unified front, we must first understand the system of governance we are submitting to.
"Worship has to do with the sacrifice of praise."
1. The Superiority of Kingdom Government and Culture
Kingdom governance over worldly politics. If believers build their foundation on the government of God, the political and cultural systems of this world will completely lose their power to divide the church.
Putting on Kingdom culture. Believers must actively shed their inherited worldly, national, or political cultures and intentionally "put on" the culture of the Kingdom of God.
Seeking the Kingdom first. Following the mandate of Matthew 6:33 requires placing God's kingdom and His righteousness above family traditions, personal ideologies, and worldly comfort.
Understanding this heavenly culture is essential, but it requires us to honestly confront how closely our personal beliefs actually align with God's.
2. The Necessity of Divine Agreement
The requirement of alignment. Drawing from the prophet Amos (Amos 3:3—"Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?"), believers are challenged to realize they cannot faithfully walk with God if they fundamentally disagree with Him.
Awareness of the enemy's schemes. We must establish a kingdom foundation so the enemy cannot gain an advantage or divide us, requiring us to not be ignorant of his devices (2 Corinthians 2:11).
Confronting hidden rebellion. Many Christians assume they agree with God by default, but participating in empty religious rituals while allowing our hearts to turn away from God's true direction is a historical pitfall we must actively avoid.
Revelation requires obedience. Just as Jesus explained the secrets of the kingdom to His disciples while speaking to the crowds in parables (Matthew 13:10-11), deep biblical understanding only comes to those who are actually willing to obey the Word.
When we genuinely align our steps with God's direction, we begin to grasp the full magnitude of the Kingdom He rules.
"If we can build our foundation on the government of God, the governments of this world will not be able to divide us."
3. The Reality of the Spiritual and Physical Kingdom
Jesus is a King, not a President. In the Kingdom of God, Jesus holds absolute, sovereign authority; He cannot be "voted out" when His decrees are unpopular or challenging to our flesh.
Counting the cost for the spiritual Kingdom. Receiving salvation is not a quick sales pitch; Jesus commands us to count the cost before following Him (Luke 14:28). When we truly submit, the spiritual Kingdom of God takes up residence within us (Luke 17:21).
Preparing for the physical Kingdom. The Great Commission to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19) is fundamentally about preparing humanity for the coming physical Kingdom, where Jesus will rule over the earth as the fulfillment of the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:10) and the promise to the meek (Matthew 5:5).
Recognizing Jesus as our absolute King completely redefines our earthly identity, elevating us to diplomatic representatives.
"Jesus is not your president, he is your king. You can't vote Jesus out."
4. Our Identity as Kingdom Ambassadors
Sent from a foreign land. Believers are commanded to act as ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20)—the highest-ranking diplomatic officials sent from one government (Heaven) to a foreign land (Earth).
Carrying the Kingdom's presence. Just as Jesus sent out the 72 disciples to heal the sick and declare that "the kingdom of God is near you now" (Luke 10:8-9), we carry the nearness of the Kingdom within us as we go out into the world.
Representing the King's policies. An ambassador's sole duty is to faithfully represent the desires, policies, and messages of their King, making complete inner agreement a crucial prerequisite to speaking on His behalf.
Stepping into this diplomatic role requires a conscious, daily decision to abandon our own agendas in favor of total submission.
Conclusion: Surrendering to the Will of the King
Evaluating our foundation. Believers must honestly evaluate whether the Kingdom of God truly dictated their past decisions in relationships, finances, and cultural stances.
The posture of repentance. Embracing the Kingdom requires repenting for living life according to our own will and cultivating a willingness to permanently lay down our "own truth."
A season of transformation. God is actively calling His church to fundamentally change their thinking, paving the way to walk in authentic, unshakeable Kingdom unity.
This call to absolute surrender isn't merely theological; it demands a practical, life-altering response from each of us.
Reflection & Discussion Questions
Reviewing Matthew 6:33, in what specific areas of your life have you unconsciously allowed your cultural background or political ideology to take precedence over Kingdom culture?
Reflecting honestly on Amos 3:3, are there any teachings, principles, or commands of Jesus that you secretly disagree with or resist obeying?
How does viewing Jesus as a sovereign King (Matthew 5:5, Matthew 6:10)—rather than an elected official or a distant figure—change the way you approach daily obedience and submission?
According to 2 Corinthians 5:20, what is one practical way you can act as a more faithful "ambassador" for God's government in your workplace, school, or home this week?
